Our Baklava Is Made With Love
Once baked for special occasions and for the very wealthy, Baklava is a sweet dessert pastry made of layers of flaky phyllo dough filled with chopped nuts, sweetened and held together with syrup or honey. Oh, and you don’t have to be rich to enjoy our baklava!
We offer varieties of Iraqi and Turkish baklava made with love by our relatives. In Turkey, baklava is prepared by filling between the layers of dough with pistachios, walnuts or almonds. In Iraq, baklava is prepared from phyllo dough sheets, butter, walnuts, and honey. They’re both delicious.
Our Turkish Delight/Loqhum treats date back to late 1700s Turkey, these sweets are made from a gel-base made of starch and sugar. Varieties include chopped nuts and flavors such as rosewater (mild, sweet floral flavor), mastic (smooth pine flavor), Bergamot orange, lemon, and more. Turkish Delights/Loqhum are often enjoyed and served as small cubes.
